HUDSON VALLEY BUILDING TRADES GOES AFTER TWO COMPANIES THAT FAILED TO PAY PREVAILING WAGE

DTM Development LTD and C&J Landscaping and Maintenance, Inc. are two companies that provided work at the Village of Greenwood Lake Commuter and Library parking lot project. They have both agreed to pay restitution, interest and penalties associated with their failure to pay prevailing wages to workers on that project. The state Department of Labor said that DTM Development LTD agreed to pay $10,598.87 for failing to pay prevailing wages and have been issued a willful violation. Meanwhile C&J Landscaping and Maintenance, Inc agreed to pay $112,800.55 in restitution, interest and penalty for their failure to pay prevailing wages and/or supplements to the employees on the same project. This company also received a willful violation for providing falsified payroll records and as a result will be ineligible to submit a bid or be awarded any public works contract for five years. L. Todd Diorio, business manager of Laborers’ Local 17, is also the president of the Hudson Valley Building Trades Council stated in the article that “We will continue to go after all contractors who cheat workers out of wages and benefits while taking work away from union contractors and the tradesmen and women of the Hudson Valley building trades.”
