On February 28, 2023, the Glen Cove City Council passed a resolution that significantly strengthens safety requirements for construction projects within the city! This measure now stipulates that all workers on projects 20,000 square feet or more are required to have their OSHA 30 certification. OSHA 30 is a class that includes 30 or more hours of construction safety and health instruction. In addition, projects larger in size are required to have a site safety designee. This person must have completed an OSHA 100 hour class, and will be on-site to ensure health and safety compliance.
This is an enormous step forward in protecting the working men and women who build the City of Glen Cove! We extend our sincerest thanks to Councilwoman Marsha Silverman for her leadership and for getting this legislation over the finish line.
